Old Greenwich

A vibrant, walkable downtown, scenic beaches, an exceptional school system, a wealth of restaurants, upscale shopping and outstanding recreational and waterfront options make Old Greenwich a wonderful community in which to live.

The upscale, coastal community of Old Greenwich is one of several distinct neighborhoods situated within the Fairfield County town of Greenwich. Old Greenwich, which comprises about 2 square miles, is bordered by Long Island Sound to the south, Stamford to the east and Westchester County, New York, to its west and north. Old Greenwich, which was known as Sound Beach in the 19th century, today boasts a population of about 6,800 residents. It features a walkable suburban downtown district encompassing an array of restaurants, boutiques and local shops and businesses. The intimate, small-town feel of downtown Old Greenwich is where residents take pride in supporting independent merchants, many of whom are also Greenwich residents.  It's coastal location makes it a prime spot for enjoying myriad recreational and waterfront activities.  Residents enjoy access to one of the nation’s most magnificent public waterfront parks, Greenwich Point Park, as well as the 32-acre Binney Park, located in Old Greenwich. Commuters enjoy easy access to Manhattan via car, Metro-North’s New Haven line or Amtrak, which operates out of neighboring Stamford.
