Prompt: A local vlogger is filming a series on the “top places to visit in Greenwich.”  Create a tour around town… Where would you send them, and why?

The Perfect Day in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Here is my magnificent guide to a perfect day in Greenwich. All of these activities can be done in a day or over several days or even a week.

As an avid beach lover, this tour will begin at Tod’s Point for a beautiful sunrise with a calming view of Long Island Sound. Tod’s is home to a long gorgeous beach, a three-mile running loop, and even a top-notch snack bar. Over my seventeen years in Greenwich, I have developed a love for this magical beach, it has transformed my life. I go there when I need to release some stress through a walk or run. This beach is also a great hang-out spot for a small group or substantial grade. My senior year started with a senior sunrise and ended with a senior sunset. It was wonderful to experience this grade-wide event that brought us closer. While the beach isn’t public, you can buy day passes to this memory-creating wonderland.

Next, I would recommend visiting the cozy community of Cos Cob, my hometown. Cos Cob is home to many locally-owned restaurants such as Roost (great for sandwiches or coffee),  Gelato & Cioccolato (with ten flavors of fabulous ice cream), and finally Chicken Joe's (fried food heaven), or Arcuri’s with their mouth drooling pizza. While I have several favorite specialties, I enjoy a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with melting heavenly fontina cheese, and caramelized onions, on gorgeous sourdough. I finish this wonderful meal with a scoop of double chocolate at the Gelato store. While there are several places for food in Greenwich, these stores provide friendly service with fantastic eats.

Post lunch, I enjoy a gorgeous walk around Cos Cob Park. While going around the half-mile loop, you will be greeted by some friendly people of Cos Cob, a stunning view of the water, and the backs of some pretty sweet houses! The kids running around on the playground and biking always brighten up my day.

Moving closer to the center of Greenwich, you encounter the Avenue. Home to a plethora of stores with great shopping and even better snacks. Zara, Aerie, and Athleta sales are omnipresent, and the staff, some of my close friends, are always ready to help! While making my way down the Ave, I generally get a lemonade at Starbucks or a crepe at Meli Melo!

Lastly, I would head over to Byram to swim in the clear waters of the town pool and enjoy the view of the ocean from their beach and gazebos.

All of these places in Greenwich serve to build our community and create fantastic memories for the people just passing through. I have loved my seventeen years here and all of these places I mentioned have created memories that will last me a lifetime. When I’m visiting from Baltimore, I will always run around the beach, to either watch a sunrise or sunset and get my beloved sandwich from Roost. I hope this little guide helps create a fantastic trip to Greenwich!
